The SPOT is capable of taking four different power source inputs (typically PV, but is does not have to be) of varying power and voltage and outputting the exact voltage or even a voltage range required to interface to the of your microgrid. For example, the SPOT could take four 1,000 volt PV strings as input and output voltage to 380 volts to power a building’s DC distribution system. As another example, the SPOT could take inputs from four 1,500 volt PV strings and follow a DC bus voltage between 900 and 1,100 volts to support a DC coupled Solar and Storage system.
Alencon’s SPOT can uniquely provide this ability thanks to its Galvanic Isolation. By placing an isolation transformer on each input, the SPOT can precisely control its voltage output.
