LabVIEW Controls Engineer

The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the implementation and continued development on controls and acquisition systems. These systems are based on the National Instruments cRIO platform, and make heavy use of its communications and data processing capabilities.

Essential Job Functions

The LabVIEW Controls Engineer uses LabVIEW and National Instruments hardware to design and build systems for automated control, data acquisition and, testing. Applications involve a variety of technologies including electronic signal conditioning, RIO and instrument control, FPGA, real-time, and embedded systems, online data processing and analysis, as well as SQL database integration.

The engineer will actively participate with the R&D team in the design and development of multi-megawatt DC-to-AC power inverters.

Requirements:

  • B.S./M.S. degree in Systems, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other related field
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience using G as a programming language
  • Experience in C, C++, C#
  • Object Oriented G experience a plus
  • National Instruments hardware (RIO, DAQ)
  • U.S. Work Authorization

Other Skills/Abilities

  • LabVIEW Associate Developer, Developer, or Architect certifications a plus
  • Strong hands-on hardware troubleshooting and software debugging skills
  • Working knowledge of signal processing in time and frequency domains
  • Design and analysis of analog and digital circuits
